LENS LOVE: THIS IS MY FAVORITE
DAL RECIPE
BY JUDITH WILLIAMS
Cooking Indian food is always a feast for the senses. The flavors are incredibly diverse and ensure true taste explosions! This vegetarian dal is mine favorite – easy to cook, rich in many minerals and sooooo delicious! I'm sure it will also appeal to meat lovers. Bon appetit!
Do you feel the same way? In the cold season I prefer to eat warm. I love warming myself up from the inside with soups, stews and hot drinks. Salad can wait!
That's why I was immediately convinced by this recipe, which I found from my Bitterliebe friends. It is a lentil dal, which is known for its rich protein and numerous minerals such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus and zinc! In this recipe you then add Bitterlove powder added so that the bitter substances can develop their full power. (You can of course leave out the powder, but here you can read again why bitter substances are so incredibly good for us... and how we sometimes criminally neglect them.)
By the way, “Dal” is an Indian national dish. The Italians have pasta, the Indians have dal. Even babies are given dal as their first solid food (without spices, of course). Yogis also love dal because it is considered “pure” and is said to bring harmony, peace and balance. While cooking, you can dream of India and - ommmm - let your mind wander.
But now swing the wooden spoon. Have fun!
