"GO GIRL GO!" PODCAST - EPISODE 4 VERONICA FERRES

Actress, producer, mother – and one of the most famous Germans: Veronica Ferres. But what many people don't know is that it was only with luck that she survived a serious illness. In the new podcast “GO GIRL GO!” With her friend Judith, the acting star openly reports on this experience, prejudices and sexual harassment - and why she never lost faith in herself.

We know and love Veronica Ferres as an absolute power woman. Everyone quickly has an image in mind: Because she is one of the most famous German actresses and a successful producer. This picture is correct. But it is not complete.

In the podcast “GO GIRL GO!” Veronica Ferres speaks openly with Judith Williams about those experiences that the public hardly knows about. The setbacks, stupid sayings and prejudices that even one of the most successful women in the film business has to deal with. “The sine curve of life doesn’t stop at anyone,” says Ferres.

What many people don't know: The fact that Veronica Ferres can make films today is anything but self-evident for her. “Every day is a plus,” says the actress, referring to Easter Sunday when she became seriously ill with meningitis. Only: In the emergency room of the hospital the drama was not recognized, even though she could no longer move and was slurring. But then, she says in the podcast, a young doctor fortunately took action and called in the senior doctor, who was already having dinner with the family. “If the right doctor hadn’t come and given me the right medication, I wouldn’t be alive.” In a conversation with her friend Judith, the acting star reports openly and vulnerably how she fought her way back to life after the serious viral infection.

And although many people think that the superstars are rushing for success and success in their careers, what Veronica Ferres tells in the podcast shows the obstacles that women in Germany have to contend with despite all their emancipation. "I had to read that you are too tall, too blonde, have too much hair and too much bust. You are dismissed as a woman who is not allowed to have any value. She is blonde and stupid," says Ferres about the reactions at the beginning of her career. From the first-class Abi or their time at the prestigious Max Reinhardt seminar no one wanted to know anything. “Always using clichés made me suffer a lot.”

You'll find out how Veronica Ferres always found the courage to believe in herself in this exciting and highly emotional episode of "GO GIRL GO!".
