Back then, they came into the lion's den with their mouth pulling oil; today Jenny and Phillip Rathgeber have many more aromatherapy products in their range. In the interview, Jenny reveals how the two of them are doing with their company today.

We are happy. We have the right products at the right time that give people security, balance and grounding in these times of change. The pandemic has been really challenging in my personal life: I still see myself in video conferences with a baby in my arms and a whining toddler next to me. It's reassuring to know that we weren't alone in this crazy situation and that many people around the world felt the same way. That was really a brilliant achievement by the whole company. And I think we came out stronger than ever. We have learned to concentrate on the important things. Rituals have been introduced that help us cope with everyday life and make us more focused. Because: There is no one medicine, one thing, that will quickly pull us out of the crisis. It takes a lot of changes and mindful rituals that make us more resilient to crises in the long term. That's why our brand ELIXR comes at exactly the right time. With our products we help people establish rituals that strengthen at least one of the pillars for a life in balance: sleep, stress and immune system.

Aromatherapy is like a little therapist at your side who can put you in a positive mood in a matter of seconds, so that you sleep better, are less stressed and more concentrated or are generally less vulnerable. The world has been thrown into disarray lately and in our hectic everyday lives we are all the more longing for natural solutions that can help quickly without putting a strain on our organism or the environment. With the Elixr portfolio, we offer modern products that look at body and mind as a whole. This is more important than ever, because with so many crises, we devote less and less time to ourselves, stress and tension are everywhere. Here you can work excellently with little tricks from nature, e.g. with aromatherapy. This works with scents of essential oils that can reach our emotional brain and thus have an effect before the mind intervenes and wants to do everything in constant stress mode.

Smoking is one of the oldest healing methods and is considered the origin of aromatherapy. If you have the feeling that everything is going wrong or you are planning a new beginning, a move like Judith, a simple incense ritual can be surprisingly effective and help you let go and start anew. As with aromatherapy, it is always about something holistic. It's about scents, about a physical and mental component. White sage, for example, is a medicinal plant that was once even used to clean hospital rooms. The herbaceous, spicy scent stimulates the circulation and relaxes you immensely. Now it is no longer a trend, but a product that breaks all records. I can understand that well, given what's going on in the world right now.

Yes, it was a lot of fun with both of them! We all agree that we truly recommend it to everyone with full fervor. Building a house is always a masterpiece per se and now there is so much positive energy in the house that nothing can go wrong ;) By the way, you don't need any instructions for smoking. Here it is like with so many rituals from nature: follow your intuition. Let the incense glow and go wherever it takes you. Or simply use it as a scent by lighting it, decorated in a beautiful fireproof bowl. That works too. Just don’t forget to turn it off later! But of course, smoking in groups is also nice, we noticed that. The entire camera team wanted to join in on the shoot! That's why we organize a few special events here and there, for example on Halloween, where we use the special atmosphere to let new energies flow.

Mentally switching off from everyday life with rituals is really important for us, because Philipp and I not only share ELIXR, we are also a family and have two small children together. We have to organize ourselves well when we “come down” and “take turns” switching off. Philipp then likes to go jogging in the forest and then to the sauna (with the infusions in his luggage). I love yoga more than anything, the whole philosophy. My mindset has changed since I started practicing this. It gives me inner strength and calmness. I like to enhance the effect with our products and use our yoga spray or incense. If we are lucky enough that both of our children are sleeping and we no longer have to work, I have the ultimate happiness of being able to enjoy a foot massage with our pleasantly smelling massage oil.

We have big plans! We will conquer new product categories and take our first steps abroad. You can be excited. In any case, we will remain true to our design and trend sense and continue to work exclusively with high-quality and natural ingredients that touch body, mind and soul in equal measure.
