TREAT YOURSELF: MORE SELF LOVE FOR VALENTINE’S DAY!
BY JUDITH WILLIAMS
If you don't have a Valentine's Day date yet, then you're wrong. Because you have one with the most important person you know. Yes, exactly: with yourself! Here are 3 ideas on how to do it jour d'amour - the day of love - can be used to give yourself a little bit more self-love.
Years ago, my sweetheart gave me a very special gift for Valentine's Day: He had my old ones Silver plated ballet shoes that I last wore when I was 18 years old - as a good luck charm for my adventure on Let's Dance! Huh. 😍 Love is simply something beautiful! And as we all know, it is most beautiful when we share it. So also and actually above all with ourselves. That's why I think: Valentine's Day is a fantastic opportunity to treat yourself to a big dose of self-love. Do you think it's good? Then I suggest we celebrate it: with us!
TIP 1: HAVE A BEAUTY DATE WITH YOURSELF
Feeling completely comfortable in your own skin is the ultimate Venus feeling - and Valentine's Day in particular is predestined for long beauty sessions. Oh what am I saying: whole beauty festivals! Grab a great one at home Feel-good mask, makes a peeling, or enjoy a hot bath. And then: Have a date with yourself! Put on your favorite music and dance around the bathroom while you Make up (if you follow me on Instagram, you know: the Williams family loves the kitchen as a dance floor). Everything is allowed: the main thing is that you pamper yourself.
TIP 2: WRITE YOURSELF A LOVE LETTER
While you're perhaps still enjoying the face mask: grab a pen and paper - and write a love letter to yourself. Yes, really! Write that you love each other. Not despite it and although, rather because and if! 💌 Make yourself particularly aware: You are wonderful and incredibly lovable - just as you are. With all your strengths and weaknesses, because they make you a unique person. You can praise that on the day of (self-)love. So be the best friend and partner to yourself and tell each other how much you like each other! Plus: Love letters can be kept - and you'll have something in your hand that gives you a warm feeling, even weeks later. So who needs a Valentine?
“Self-love is a decision that we can make from one moment to the next.”

TIP 3: CELEBRATE THE LOVE OF OTHERS
Valentine's Day isn't just reserved for couples! And I think nothing stops us from showing our affection to other people who deserve it just as much as a partner. Did you know that Lovers' Day supposedly goes back to the Roman bishop Valentine of Terni, who secretly married lovers around 300 AD and gave them flowers from his own garden? So much commitment to the love of others is simply wonderful! Each of us knows people whose love touches and inspires us incredibly: parents, friends or colleagues. Telling them that, and maybe even giving them a small gift, is probably more in keeping with the true spirit of Valentine's Day than anything else.
THE GREATEST GIFT
Whether with kind words, a warm hug or a small gift: Show the people you love on Valentine's Day how much you love them, put a smile on their face and, above all, give YOURSELF a lot of love. Treat yourself to this! Because: Love is the greatest gift.
