Retinoid ABC
All of these terms are pretty confusing, but what's the difference? They describe different types of retinoids: What distinguishes them from each other are the “conversion steps” up to retinoic acid. All retinoids must be converted into their active form in the skin - the retinoic acid – be transformed so that they can develop their effect. A "Conversion step" refers to the biochemical process that the skin must go through to convert the retinoid into retinoic acid.
